About True Godliness with contentment

Good morning dearly beloved friends

A good week to you.

As I began to think of God to worship and adore him....I began to think carefully on what God’s will is for us in this particular "end-time" season - it is simply to increase the Kingdom not just to live for gain. Fulfilment really comes from being aligned to heaven, aligned to God's perfect (not permissive) will, but what takes us away from that place of being connected to God’s heart?

Many times it is the pursuit of the things of this world that we have been so conditioned to believe will satisy us.

Let us refocus today.

Let me share these verses with you.

1 Timothy 6:6 - 10 NLT

6 Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth. After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it. So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content.

But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows

I shared from a simplified translation so you could better under the words.

These words are so true.

What do we make our priority? Acquiring possessions that we cannot take with us.

May we focus on what is of the greatest importance - working out our salvation, preparing for eternity, loving God and others as we do ourselves.

Please don't get me wrong - we need money to increase the Kingdom, to accomplish this requires insight, vision, dedication and persistence. My thoughts are what is our priority have we somehow wondered away from God and pierced ourselves with sorrows in the pursuit of wordly "things"

What is wealth my friends? Wealth is not necessarily measured in the Kingdom by what we hold on to, but by what we give ie. True wealth is measured by what we do with what we have (as small as it may be) for God's glory

Amen

Let us refocus - remember true and lasting peace and joy comes from being in relationship with God not from material possessions or from people. From the flow of being in relationship with him should come the wisdom, the knowledge and the power to get wealth.

I pray God will give us the grace to be content it all it begins with an attitude of gratitude.

I leave you with these words may these words guide us this day, this week. Amen

1 Thessalonians 5:16 - 18

16 Rejoice evermore.

17 Pray without ceasing.

18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you

Amen

God can change our situation this very moment if he so chooses, let us be grateful for the portion he gives us this day, this week and for the rest of the year

Walk good in Christ

Till we meet again

Pastor J
