About the Reverential Fear of the Lord

Good morning my friends when we use the word of God as the measure for life, we will recognize that we live in a world of compromise, lawlessness and depravity.

Even the church seems not to be abiding by God's standards as we have seen from the recent exposures going on in the media.

No matter what goes on in this world, there are some who will choose God and his ways above all else.

Those few are called the remnant!

One characteristic is true for those who remain faithful to God - it is called THE REVERENTIAL FEAR OF THE LORD!

Amen

Yes my friends that is what will cause one to live in truth, walk in truth, speak truth and even grow in other giftings such as wisdom.

My prayer for everyone is we will have the Spirit of the Reverential Fear of God, Truth and Obedience.

Amen

I don't know why I have always prayed that prayer, but come to think of it. That is what will keep us connected to God and will cause us to grow in deep revelation of him. God was leading me to pray so, for myself and all who were led to salvation and all seeking counsel.

I adapted these words from the gotquestions.org website. This will help in our study today

Proverbs 1:7 declares, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge.” Until we understand who God is and develop a reverential fear of Him, we cannot have true wisdom. True wisdom comes only from understanding who God is and that He is holy, just, and righteous. Deuteronomy 10:12, 20-21 records, “And now, O Israel, what does the LORD your God ask of you but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Fear the LORD your God and serve him. Hold fast to him and take your oaths in his name. He is your praise; he is your God, who performed for you those great and awesome wonders you saw with your own eyes.” The fear of God is the basis for our walking in His ways, serving Him, and, yes, loving Him.

Amen

My dear friends I have been involved in ministry close to 30 years. I have seen over the years, so many leaders and co labourers fall. Many were so convinced they were hearing from God but were led away from truth, thus operating in error. I saw their end and was very saddened by these happenings.

May we at this time set standards so we do not fall into a trap of deception as a characteristic of the last days is that "MANY will be deceived"

May we stay humble, ask God to keep us from sin, error and pride. May we ask God to reign us in and keep us on the straight and narrow path. May we always make ourselves accountable to other Holy Spirit filled Christians who are truth speakers.

I tell you my friends when walking with God's love and being in relationship with him becomes our true priority - then we will truly fear being away from him. That is how the fear of the Lord works. We recognise we are not our own, that we are bought with a price, so everything we do should flow out of being in relationship with him. We just cannot function without being "connected to the vine" . In this place my friends sin becomes an uncomfortable place, the world and it's pleasures do not bring us joy. In fact we not only recognise sin and walk away from it.. we run far away from anything that does not "pattern" God and that my friends is the Spirits of the Fear of the Lord and truth, taking preeminence in our lives

Let us live and walk in truth

Let us live and walk in the fear of the Lord

Let us Walk good in Christ

Till we meet again my friends

Nuff love

Pastor J
