A Successful Life
Success is defined as being favorable, prosperous, it is the accomplishment of one’s goals, being wealthy, a position of honor, being an over-comer. A Christians success is a progressive realization and an internalization of God’s will for our life. Our success is dependent on our knowledge and execution of God’s will.
A successful life is living a spiritual life. Joshua 1:8, “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate on it day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Psalms 1:3, went on to explain the benefits of knowing, meditating on and observing God’s word. “…. he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of living water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”
Our success is in producing the fruit of the Spirit. Galatians 6:22-23 list them as, love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance. In Philippians 3:8 Paul says, “…. and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord; for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ. This is the real meaning of living a successful life. Giving up everything the world deems as success and focusing on God’s will.
“But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you,” Matthew 6:33.
