A Season for Change by Minister Owen Mitchell

A Season for Change

It’s so amazing to see the transitioning of the colors of the leaves on the trees. As the days gets shorter sunlight reduces, making it evident that fall is on its way.

The colors of the leaves move from green to yellow to orange then red, signifying the reduction of chlorophyll in them. Acts 14:17 “Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from Heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.” Even the seasons declare God’s glory.

The Lord gave me an opportunity to pray for some homeless people last night. Most of the time while praying my eyes were closed, not knowing the prayer brought one individual to tears. At the end of the prayer he was relating to us about his journey and it’s then I realized he was not homeless but a drug dealer. He proceeded to tell us of his various seasons, which led him to where he is presently. He lamented with great passion the need to stop, so as to set a better example for his two boys.

The Bible tell us in Ecclesiastes 3:1 that, “to every thing there is a season ….” and this was the season for change for this young man. Just as photosynthesis is the process by which plants use sunlight to produce chlorophyll, we need Jesus in our life. He is our sunlight! He give us the strength to go through these seasons. Are you going through a season of change? Trust God, He’s able to see you through.

God Bless.
