A Desire For More Faith
Faith is a daily challenge for me, as I learn to depend on Jesus more and more. Believing and having confidence is an expression of our faith. Our faith is grounded in a who or a what and the Who and What in our lives is Jesus Christ. Earlier this week the reality of faith struck, leaving me desiring more faith.
We read the stories in the Bible and we talk and preach about them but what if we were in the same situation? What if you were given an ultimatum like Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego?
I imagine myself being in that same situation. Tears fell! The reality of the fiery furnace hit me, especially knowing it was made seven times hotter. Would I have the faith to say, “if it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us out of thine hand, O King,” Daniel 3:17. A sense of fear overcame me because I knew what would happen if someone goes close to the furnace or was thrown in it.
Would we have the faith like Daniel, knowing that these hungry lions are about to rip us to shreds if thrown in their den? Do we possess the faith like Moses, when he and the children of Israel’s backs were against the wall? Red sea before them, Pharaoh’s army behind then and mountains on either side. Would you or me have the faith to say to God’s people, “…. fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord ….,” Exodus 14:13?
Saints, the time is now when we need to make decisions such as these. People are being slaughtered today because of their belief. Do you have the faith that’s needed?
God Bless.
