As I read through some chapters in Jeremiah this morning, it awakened a deeper awareness of God's great mercy for his people. Though his people had sinned and he was angry about the sin, telling the people of the consequences for their sin but yet he still spoke of his good plans for the people through his servants the Prophets.
God did not leave his people but as a Father who pities his children so God showered his undeserved mercy time and time again upon a sinful generation and people.
I ask you Abbah Father to give us the grace and temperance we need as ministers to reach your people during this particular age of lawlessness and stiff neckedness.
May we all be ever so grateful for God's undeserved mercy and grace.
Lamentations 3:22/23
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness
Here is an adaptation on the subject:
God’s love and mercy not only are never ending, but are being renewed every morning. Can you find greater hope than that? But how does this work and how are God’s mercies new every morning? When you grasp God’s character then you will understand why this is even possible.
What does his new mercies each day mean for us?
How can we take the reality that God’s mercies are new every morning and apply them to our lives?
Repent Quickly – Because God is merciful, don’t use that as an excuse for sin. Instead let that be the reason you come and repent quickly. Don’t let God’s mercy be the reason you think you can sin and get away with it. Rather let God’s mercy be the reason you avoid sin, because you recognize the value of his mercy.
Renew Frequently – Because you have fresh mercy every morning you can renew your commitment to God every day. Regardless of the mistakes or bad decisions you may have made (by bad I am not just talking about sinful decisions but bad choices you wish you could take back) you can begin each day with a new slate. There is mercy to help you overcome the poor choices of yesterday.
Rejoice Continually – Because there is mercy everyday, you can rejoice continually. You don’t have to live on eggshells wondering if God has changed his mind about you. No, you can live in the freedom knowing that you are loved and God has a reservoir of mercy for you that will be available every moment of your life. This is reason to rejoice.
Amen and amen
Walk good in Christ
