A Cause For Reflection
“But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck and that he were drowned in the depths of the sea,” Matthew 18:6.
In the first verse of the chapter the disciples asked the Lord, “who is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?” The Lord responded by calling a little child and saying, “…. except ye be converted, and become as little children ye shall not enter into the Kingdom of Heaven. As little children, meaning innocence, humility, purity, a pure and simple soul, all the qualities a child possess. A millstone is a large stone that can either be turned by hand or an ass and is used for grinding.
The Lord used this scriptural illustration to show me how the youths of today are being deceived. The things they are taught and forced into are defiling their innocence causing them to stumble and sin. Satan wants to totally eradicate everything Christ-likeness from their minds. The punishment for such a one will be severe. The severity of it speaks for itself, a millstone hung around one’s neck and drowned is better than what would truly happen.
The Lord impressed this statement on me, so it is with the children today, so it will be with believers in me, His little children. Anyone that causes them to stumble, woe be unto you.
God Bless.
