A Call To Repentance
James 4:14, “whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time and then vanisheth away.”
While in the ministry it is obvious the lack of value for life. We see the misuse of this precious gift that the Lord has afforded us. The immorality, drugs, alcoholism and homelessness, these signifying the disrespect people have for life and the Giver of life. It is obvious, “the don’t care attitude” many of them have for their lives. Without good help, the life they live will lead to suicide.
On the other hand, many of us misuse our lives, not with drugs or alcohol but with living a life of sin. Sin also leads to suicide. Suicide is defined as an intentional act that causes one’s death. Our intentions affect our choices and wrong choices, causes separation from God.
I received a call from a friend yesterday saying one of our mutual friends is dead. I was in total shock. What grieved my heart mostly was (1) he died in his sleep and (2) he wasn’t a Christian. Also, the fact how his daughter was the one that found him caused terrifying feeling overcame me. This experience made me look at waking up in the morning differently. Saints, I call us to repentance because even us as Christians get caught up in a life that is causing spiritual suicide.
Life is truly short. Today could really be our last day to live. If you are not a Christian, please take this opportunity to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior before it’s too late.
God Bless.
